by Arden Thiessen HOPE is looking forward, past the boundary that separates our time from eternity and anticipating a future in which all things will be made right.HOPE means anticipating the future with such a calm assurance that we already enjoy its blessings now. HOPE expects that God will be with us in any earthly troubles and guide us safely through them.HOPE is open to the idea that God’s grace is not terminated at death, but extends into eternity and offers forgiveness to those who did not hear about it in this earthly life or could not understand it here. HOPE expects that Jesus will return and that the temporal dimension of this time will be integrated with the eternal, spiritual dimension into one new Kingdom in which God will be “all in all.”
